Blueberry-Avocado Layered Smoothie

This smoothie is a great drink to consume before you hit the gym. It contains a lot of carbohydrates which provide you with the energy you need to help you make it through your training; it will definitely supercharge your workout, and improve your cardio health !

What you’ll need:

smoothie 1

A juice mixer

1 avocado

Low-fat plain yogurt

Lime juice

Honey

Smooth peanut butter

Low-fat milk (or Soy milk)

 

Directions:

Bottom Layer. Blend:

  • 1/2 ripe avocado, peeled and pit removed
  • 1/2 cup low-fat plain yogurt
  • 1/2 lime juice
  • 1.5 tbsp honey

 

Divide equally among two glasses. Set aside.

 

Top Layer. Blend:

  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1/4 cup almond butter or smooth peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup low-fat plain yogurt
  • 1/3 cup low-fat or soy milk.

 

Pour into the two glasses on top of the avocado blend.
